It is very important to direct your user from A to B in a very organic and seamless way without unnecessary meaningless steps.
Don’t hide anything
The very first rule of UX Design is to get to know your user, and map out everything that the user would want to do on your website. With this in mind, you know exactly what you can’t hide. For example if the user is going to login onto your website, the best thing to do is to have the login button displayed on the menu right away. If you hide that in some sub menu category then it becomes very difficult for the user to navigate through and achieve what they want to do on your website.
Don’t reinvent the wheel
This is when the battle between UX and UI design becomes very intense. As a UI designer you want to create something different than the other thousand websites, however it is very important to consider function over beauty. Sometimes the best design is the “easy to use” design where users don’t get frustrated by.
