Multiple Finalist Awards at Best of Swiss Web 2021
Our team celebrates and proudly announces the latest finalist award results of our design and development work. We have participated in the Meilleur du Web (Best of Swiss Web) 2021 contest and submitted two of our greatest projects this year.
Top 4 FINALIST in Innovation Category – The Virtual Venus
We created an interactive website with some very exceptional features. The Venus of Milo has been transformed into an artwork where anyone can play with his/her creativity and draw whatever he/she wishes to see on the body. As a community artwork, the statue would be covered with these unique “tatoos” and the participants would receive a certificate that proves which pixel they bought.
The second part of the project consisted in the visualisation of the statue with the periodically updated layers so that the user can view the statue with the artworks in his/her own environment and take photos of it.
The ‘Be Part Of It’ website has been a real challenge for both our designer and developer team. The requirements of a high quality contemporary art project inspired us to find an effective and seamless solution for both the pixel selection and the AR tool part of the website.
The technical solutions we needed to find for both mobile and desktop versions were interesting challenges for all the team. Swiss Tomato aimed to find a completely user-friendly view along with the client so that the users could orientate on the body of the Venus.
In the AR solution the user can visualise the entire statue with the integrated purchased pixels. At the request of the client we can change the layer on the body and show an actualised AR picture of the artwork. It also inspires the user to create their own artwork where they place the statue anywhere in their environment by taking photos of it if they wish.
We are considering it a big success to make it to the TOP 4 among other really strong participants of the Swiss Romand market.
Top 4 FINALIST in Mobile Category – REBO
The REBO app with the connected smart bottle is measuring your water intake as it is connected to the app via Bluetooth to the bottle’s sensor equipped cap and proposing you personalised hydration plans based on your activity level. The consumption of tap water and therefore the plastic saving is already a great step towards a cleaner future as well.
The development of the REBO app has been a unique project full of challenges this year. As our team is truly committed to the protection of the environment, it has been a project really close to our heart. Our designers were trying to find the best solution for all complex functionalities of the app and making it easy for the users to efficiently find the information they need.
Its complexity also consisted in the connection of the app with an external device, the smart bottle.
We faced a lot of testing until we could finetune the communication in between all servers and devices to run the app as smoothly as possible.
This has been an honour to work on it and to receive the award this whole project deserved at the competition.
