iOS 11: what to expect

New features on Maps App
Frustration while driving is over with the app new features: lines are highlighted, meaning you’ll know exactly which line to follow. It’s a feature that is on Google Maps but was missing on Maps. More than once, you find yourself holding your phone in one hand. With iOS 11, you just have to click on and hold the emoji key to activate what will ease your life: the keys will automatically move closer to your thumb. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to type easily with one hand.
Customizable Control Centre in iOS 11
When you slide down to up, your control centre appears. It’s now rather small and static. With the update, the control center will be bigger, which will allow more shortcuts. It will also be customizable, meaning you’ll be able to decide what will feature on it. If you never use your calculator, get rid of it and put something that you use on a daily basis.
Siri: improved personal assistant
Under iOS 11, Siri gets more power and use it to better assist you. He can anticipate your needs thanks to your habit patterns. Siri also proposes sentences when you type a message or a search request. Another feature that can be useful for travellers or international workers: Siri manages to give you an instant translation in your chosen language. You just have to say “How do you say … in …” It works for French, Spanish, German, Italian and Chinese.
Redesigned App Store with iOS 11 update
The App Store was redesigned to give a better user experience. 5 tabs are displayed: “Today”, “Games”, “Apps”, “Updates”, “Search”. It will be easier to find what you search for and which apps are trending. On the new App Store, you’ll also find tips from professionals and articles about certain themes.
