Every year a Best of Swiss App competition is organized, this year 203 apps were nominated and only 48 made it to the final. Here is our 7 favorite ones, we found 3 major trends: Travel, Finance & Shopping.

Travel

Time for Coffee – iOS only: My absolute favorite one! Based on geo-localization the app shows you all the public transport vehicles coming soon and shows you how much time you have left. Time for coffee or run like hell![spacer height=”20″]

GVApp – Geneva airport’s official app. Nice interface, iOS, Android and Apple Watch. My favorite functions beyond flight tracking, map and general info is that you can scan your boarding pass and track your flight, plus that you can even book a parking slot from the app!

Jet Vision – it is an app made by us, we are really proud of it. The app helps private jet customers toimagine their future planes interiors. We modeled aircrafts interior from CAD files – the user can zoom, rotate and walk across the aisle and experience the plane with reflections and shadows added. The app is for the private jet customers, but until then watch the video here.

Shopping

Migros App – iOS & Android Similar app is available for Coop, both are genius. You can see all the discounts, activate coupons, in Migros redeem your Migros cash voucher, you can assign your Migros credit card. You Migros card is in the app – so you just pass the phone with the bar code at the cashier and you paid, collected points and redeemed your coupons, wow!

Twint – iOS app a clever mobile payment app. A bit like Apple pay (read our article). You swipe your phone at selected providers and the money is deducted from your balance. The caveat is that you have to assign a payment method or upload money to your account. Good things is that you can assign certain loyalty cards and then you get your discounts and points. Coop will soon accept it.[spacer height=”20″]

Finance

Paymit – clever idea by UBS (+ZKB, SIX). When you want split a bill with friends in a restaurant or want to split petrol costs of a ski trip, you can quickly send money just via the mobile number – it deducts from one credit card and adds it to the bank account of the others. Not only UBS. For me the app froze, but good idea. [spacer height=”20″]
Finance Fox – iOS app. You have a lot of insurances, the team of Finance Fox will help you add all of them to your account (health, car, house insurance) – so you can review them and you can ask for alternative insurance price options.
