HealthAI: Website & Community Portal Integration
The Client
HealthAI is a Switzerland-based initiative advancing responsible AI in healthcare. Bringing together public authorities, innovators and researchers, HealthAI operates a Community of Practice (CoP) and the Global Repository Network (GRN) to promote practical governance and knowledge sharing.
The Challenge
HealthAI needed a modern, editor-friendly website on a tight timeline ahead of a high-profile launch. The goals: migrate and reorganise some of the content from the previous site, introduce a Knowledge Hub, prepare an Events area and implement community features without locking the team into developer-dependent layouts.
The Solution
Swiss Tomato designed and developed a WordPress platform that is well-structured, flexible, fast and ready to grow:
- Information architecture & reusable design: Organized sitemap, consistent components and a Gutenberg/ACF block library so HealthAI editors are allowed the maximum of flexibility and can build pages without code.
- Knowledge Hub: Curated resources, blog and downloadable documents with one-time gated downloads; clear labelling for external links; flexible section titles and intro texts.
- News & Events: Well-structured news section with tags, plus a dedicated Global Governance Forum page with integrated forms (Mailchimp “stay informed”, external abstract submissions) as well as flexible template for additional events.
- Community integration: Single sign-on from WordPress to the community platform Circle with various tier roles and prepared API endpoints/caching to surface community content on the site.
- Performance & accessibility: Optimised imagery, mobile-optimized layouts and semantic markup; admin UX tuned for autonomy.
- Delivery & handover: Staging-to-production workflow, test matrix, user guide and training to ensure smooth internal operations.
Results
HealthAI now has a reliable public face and a well connected community portal with Circle. Editors can publish and adapt content quickly, visitors find resources more easily, and the platform is positioned to add additional features, expanded Knowledge Hub features and Circle-powered community views without rework.
