Here is a case study of our award-winning app &#8211; Der Die Das.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The app helps the German language learners to master the 3 articles: der, die and das. It is based on deep insight, German learners are frustrated with how to memorize the articles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We used consumer research with simple Google forms and recruited German learners from Facebook groups and users were very happy to provide feedback about app concepts. 65% of German learners found it hard or very hard to memorize the articles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We wanted to build a gamified app that is entertaining, addictive and helps you memorize the rules and we tested different app concepts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Concept 1: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casino Blackjack<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspired by Blackjack and Tinder, you can swipe the card in 3 directions whether the article is der, die and das.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17297 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/swisstomato.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/image1-169x300.png\" alt=\"award-winning app\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Concept 2: Tetris<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The words are falling from the sky just like in Tetris and you have to pick the right article before the word falls down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17300 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/swisstomato.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/image11-168x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Concept 3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Balloons<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Balloons with the noun on it fly towards the sky and you have to select the right article before the balloons disappeared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17303 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/swisstomato.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/image9-169x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Selecting the design direction of the award-winning app<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winning concept was the Balloon one and we developed 4 distinctive designs to test their appeal among users.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"\/?p=11395\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winning concept<\/a> was option 4 with the hand-drawn background.
